The UCSF School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, is seeking two full-time faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. The Department is seeking candidates with expertise in pharmacoeconomics and/or health outcomes research to work in the Department’s Medication Outcomes Center. The UCSF School of Pharmacy has been the national leader in NIH research funding for 36 years, and is widely recognized for innovation in pharmacy practice and education.
The faculty member will be integrated into the Department’s academic and service programs, which may include the UCSF Health Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee, UC system-wide initiatives, medication use and safety analysis, and other medication use improvement initiatives that focus on value-based care. The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience with statistical analyses utilizing standard health economic and statistical techniques, including development of study protocols, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of study findings to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with all level learners and health care providers to support high-quality proposals, reports, analyses, and presentations.
- Be expected to provide leadership within the department and participate in scholarly work and teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum (didactic and experiential)
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree of a MS, PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH, or relevant advanced education and/or experience in health services research, epidemiology, health policy, economics or related field. A pharmacist candidate will be either licensed in California as a pharmacist, or eligible for licensure within six months. Experience in health outcomes research using electronic medical records for data extraction is strongly preferred. Experience in study design and analytical skills are required. High priority in selection will be given to candidates with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, evidence of scholarship in pharmacoeconomics and/or outcomes research, proficiency with one or more statistical applications (SAS, SPSS, Stata), experience in working with health systems and strong potential for academic advancement as evidenced by clinical research or other creative accomplishments.
