The Department of Health Management and Policy in the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health seeks applicants for an open rank tenured or tenure-track faculty position in health economics to begin in academic year 2018-2019. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in economics, health economics, health services research with a health economics focus, or a related discipline at the time of appointment. Commensurate with years of experience, candidates must demonstrate the potential to teach Departmental courses, advise and mentor students, conduct extramurally funded research, and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals. We seek candidates with teaching and research interests or experience in one or more of the following areas: health economics, healthcare economics, health services research, economic evaluation, and research/econometric methods. At the Associate Professor or Professor rank, candidates must have an active, externally funded research portfolio and be able to mentor junior faculty. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level must show promise of developing an active, externally funded research portfolio.
Successful candidates will be expected to maintain the Department’s levels of academic productivity in research, service and teaching and support the Department’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Salary and rank commensurate with experience.
