The University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS), which also serves as a regional campus of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Health Economics, tenured or tenure-earning track. The faculty rank position in the Department of Community Medicine and Population Health includes responsibilities in the CCHS Institute for Rural Health Research and in the areas of rural and population health.
Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) degree in health economics or a related discipline. Research fellowship training is desirable. Preferred candidates will have strong experience in health economics or related field, excellent quantitative and/or qualitative research skills, strong methodological skills, and a demonstrated track record of research funding or a strong intention to build a research portfolio. Clinical experience and training is a plus, as is a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to work in multidisciplinary research teams, experience working with or engaging community-based partners, demonstrated expertise in an area of population or public health research, such as health disparities, rural health, and/or primary care health outcomes.
